Latvian seafarers on NIS-ships
The agreement between Latvia and Norway, which has been in effect since May 1. 2004, for Latvian seafarers on NIS ships, will cease on January 1, 2025.
This means that Latvian seafarers on NIS ships will, in principle, be required to be members of the MPK from the same date unless an exemption from the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme has been applied for through NAV.
